About GURP

Mission

The Georgia Undergraduate Research in Psychology (GURP) conference seeks to promote the development of new researchers in psychology, spark interest in graduate programs and careers in psychology, and create a space for students to network with each other and senior psychology researchers. 

What is GURP?

The Georgia Undergraduate Research in Psychology (GURP) conference, started in 2002, is an annual conference held on the campus of Kennesaw State University. KSU’s Department of Psychological Science hosts GURP. Historically, presenters have been undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and high school students. However, in 2012, the conference was opened to junior graduate students (within the first two years of study) to submit abstracts to give them a venue for their first conference presentations and allow undergraduate students to network with graduate students and learn more about graduate school.  

Each year, we welcome hundreds of attendees from approximately 15 colleges and universities across the southeast US, including Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and Texas.  

The conference typically includes oral and poster presentations, a keynote speaker, and panel presentations or workshops on various topics relevant to undergraduate students.
